The first generation of VVA’s practice was built on the bedrock of observation, international exposure and problem solving.
The second generation has focussed on the ‘Green’ Architecture.
Both have pursued indigenous modernism- never wavering from their core beliefs.
This sort of modernism is best evident in the various hospital designs in and around Pune city.
Another interesting aspect has been the design of the Individual Home. VVA has designed over 300 independent houses and continues to be attracted to this design type even in this age of Mega projects.
From the beginning the focus has been on a clean practice with an emphasis on integrated design approach.
Designs are always developed in close association with the Client- even at the cost of much heartburn.
Many clients have stayed with the company through the generation shifts.
Instant recognition was never aspired for and indeed never received.
Each design problem is approached cautiously and the solutions are liberated from formalistic & stylistic conventions.
Over the decades many diverse building types are handled with care & caution. The unusual types being the memorials, Old age homes, and ashram campuses as well as temples.

No project is too small or too big.
