Architect Badawe has designed some of the prominent landmarks in the Hospitality and
Entertainment industry such as Hotel Pride Executive, Alankar Cinema, modernization
of Alka Talkies, Sonmarg, Vishal etc.
Project : National Memorial constructed in Memory of Late Lokmanya Tilak at Pune.
Year of Construction : 1972-76.
Seating Capacity : 901 Seats Auditorium.
Project Cost : Rs. 45 lakhs.
This is a memorial of Lokmanya Tilak, father of Indian unrest. The project has a limited land area where Tilak Mandir
is designed as a memorial, a mandir, Lokmanya Tilak's statue and a mural by Shri. Gopal Deuskar is at the core of the
project. Under Mandir is a small seminar/ meeting hall. On the upper floors there is an Auditorium complex with 901 seats
at first and balcony levels. Auditorium has stage and back stage areas, green rooms, VIP rooms, foyers and sanitary
blocks.
Architectural design has strong cubical forms, wood and glass doors, open mandirs/memorial ambience, and closed
auditorium. Aesthetics is solid geometry with blank walls, rectangulars, separated by continuous glass windows.
